Dosages for Children

Babies and Toddlers General dosage Guidelines

Always follow the manufactures dosages information first if available.

 1⁄12 of the adult dose (i.e., if the dose is 3-ml for an adult, reduce it to ¼-ml). For infants, it is usually advisable to use an herbal tea or infusion rather than an essential oil. Never use essential oils for babies younger than three months. 

Children ages 5-8 years old

 1⁄6-1⁄3 of adult dose 

Children ages 8-12 years old

 1⁄3-1⁄2 of adult dose 

Children ages 12-15 years old

1⁄2-2⁄3 of adult dose

Recommended dosages given are only guidelines. Each person is a unique individual with his or her own unique physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
